Hello! This is awesome. Any chance you could tell us if my company’s film made it in? I’m with BadFritter Films and we released a film called “Paper Dolls” a few years ago. It made the festival circuit and walked away with quite a few awards.
    Thanks!

    • Hi Jonna,

Thanks for your reply! Yes, Paper Dolls is mentioned. Quite favorably, in fact. I cite it as a model example of how Cine du Sasquatch can be properly done for modern audiences and largely avoid the cliches that plague the genre as a whole. Pat Moriarity, the renowned graphic artist, was kind enough to supply a local screening poster he did ala an old EC horror comic cover, which is reproduced in the book, as well.

Paper Dolls deserves a much wider distribution than it has been given, imho. Thanks again, and I hope you enjoy the book! If you pick it up and have time, kindly return here and share your thoughts/reactions, okay? Best again!

    Hi David,
I bought your Bigfoot filmography book and love it. However, there is a missing entry. It’s a segment from the old popular tv show, Fantasy Island.

    Here’s a description:

The second season of fantasy island is going to be released this may 8 by shout factory:

Also, a little trivia about the 1977 movie, sasquatch: legend of Bigfoot.

There was a tv commercial advertising the movie that showed an excellent scene of a little Indian boy walking through a clearing in the woods. We the viewers are watching the boy from bigfoots point of view, from within the woods. The Indian boy shoots off an arrow that lands at the edge of the woods. The boy goes to retrieve it. He reaches down to grab his arrow, just then a big hairy foot stops down on the ground right next to the boys hand. The boy looks up at the creature, then runs away.

The thing is that this scene was not used in the movie, at least that I know of. Only in the tv commercial advertising the movie. It’s possible that it existed in some prints of the movie, but not in others. As you point out in your book, they “four walled” the movie back in 1977. The cheap route of distribution. I, among others, have been trying to find that scene for years. So far haven’t found it.

I just wanted to bring this new film to your attention, that I have yet to see. It apparently is a grindhouse-inspired flick that has bigfoot featured in it.

    • Thanks for the tip, Steve! I am always looking for new titles to include in future, revised editions of The Bigfoot Filmography, so of course… this one just went into the “Must See” file! 😉

I was wondering if you could help me with this bigfoot documentary question, Do movie posters exist for the following two bigfoot films

    Manbeast! Myth or Monster? (1978)
In Search of Bigfoot (Bigfoot: Man or Beast?)(1975)
I have never seen a picture or copy anywhere and I though they might either have had too limited a distribution or went directly to television. Any help would be appreciated

    Great Book!

    Thanks

    • Brian, I’m not sure. I haven’t personally seen artwork for either of these releases. Kindly post herein again if you find either in your search and let us know, will you? Thanks and sorry I couldn’t help more this time! 😉

Hi Dave. It was a pleasure to meet you at Cryptopalooza. I enjoyed your presentation and look forward to reading your books. Thanks for the tip about Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie. I watched it last night and thought it was really well done.

    • You as well, Russell! I hope you enjoy The Bigfoot Filmography as much as we did talking Squatch flix! 😉 And agreed: Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie is really a good watch — recommended for Cine du Sasquatch fans.

Have you seen The Bigfoot Election. I didn’t find it on your site. Just saw it on amazon. Pretty good. Thought of this site when I saw it.

Thanks for a cool site. Keep it up Mr. Coleman.

Hello, I really loved the book…I’ve been fascinated by bigfoot tales since childhood. Two examples of fauxsquatch tv that made an impression on me back then were a 1962 episode of the TV western series “Cheyenne” called “Satonga” and a 1967 episode of “Cimarron Strip” called “The Beast That Walks Like a Man.”

    • Thanks, Joanna! So glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for the mentions of the two “fauxsquatch” episodes, too! I’ll be sure to mention them when a revised edition of ‘The Bigfoot Filmography’ is published, and give you credit! 😉
